In answer to Mos' request I have decided to create a lttle resume of myself.
I trained at the Prince of Wales Sea Training School, Dover from July to December 1963, before joining the "Oronsay"

This was my first ship sailing from Tilbury 10th December 1963 to Australia. The tourist class part of the ship packed with £10 a head assisted passage migrants. After Australia we did the pacific Islands, Hong Kong, Vancouver, San Fransisco and Los Angeles before backtracking to Australia and the UK. The route to and from Australia took us to Malaya, India, Sri Lanka, Aden and then through Suez to various Medi' ports. Did a 2nd voyage on the same ship with similar ports except after LA it was through the Panama canal to Miami.
Quite an adventure for the runny nosed kid from NW London. Will continue the tale later.

Hi Geoff(?), I was at PWSTS in 1964, I found your blog while browsing. I did 5 years with NZSCo, Port Line, United Baltic Co and Trinity House. Had a great time and still miss the sea.
Been in the construction industry since then, now a building surveyor, retiring soon. You seem to have done a lot and still on tugs. I'm thinking of a narrowboat for when I retire, I fancy wandering the canals in the summer and working on my son's house in France in the winter.
If this reaches you, drop me a line and best wishes.
Laurie
